Toxic chemicals in plastic-free packaging?
May 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Plastic Free Chesterfield is proud to present Fidra, a charity campaigning to take action on PFAS.
When looking to switch away from single-use plastic food packaging, we tend to choose paper and cardboard alternatives, but did you know that some plastic-free packaging is coated with PFAS? Per- or Poly-Fluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) are a group of over 4700 industrial chemicals, used in everyday products, which can take over 1000 years to break down, can be toxic to wildlife and toxic to humans.
At this talk you’ll find out more about PFAS and what you can do about it.
