Learn how to make two delicious Asian vegan dishes: aloo Gobi (Potato and cauliflower curry) and pakoras.
This will be a demonstration event run by the volunteers at Saffron Kitchen, with a chance to eat the results afterwards! The room is large and well ventilated but if you prefer to take the food away with you please do bring your own containers as the Asian Association are plastic free!
Booking is essential and it will cost £12 per person, payable in advance. We are afraid there is no refund if you book and are subsequently unable to make it. For the well-being of others we also encourage people to test for Covid before they come.

Saffron Kitchen is a lottery-funded community meals project that started small but has big aspirations! It is a project run by the Asian Association of Chesterfield (a charity) in Hasland, Chesterfield. The kitchen has served more than 6000 meals since it began in July 2020. Started as a community meals project for the elderly and vulnerable, their goals have expanded since. They aspire to combat food poverty, food insecurity and ill health through spreading the word about healthy, simple home cooking that is light on ingredients – providing vegetarian and vegan options to be inclusive! They cook all manner of cuisines but have roots in traditional home cooking from the very different states all over India. The income from their cooking classes and other activities goes straight back into the community meals project.
