Since it was formed Transition Chesterfield has run over a hundred skillshare workshops on skills including:

Beekeeping; bike maintenance; breadmaking; chicken keeping; composting; darning; dry stone walling; fruit tree pruning; fungi foraging; jam & marmalade; joy of elderflower and elderberry; knitting and crochet; permaculture intro; recycled jewellery; recycled paper; recycled Xmas; simple machine sewing; solar PV and thermal; spinning; vegetarian cookery; wild food foraging; wine making.

These are low cost (£2 per person) sessions run by volunteers who share their skills with others.  They help foster practical skills that are essential for a future world without oil, and identify people with skills in the community that we can learn from. It also enhances the sense of community as the workshops are fun and social.
