Skillshare: Home composting workshop

12 May @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Malcolm to find out how to turn your green garden and food waste into compost. Home composting is better for the environment, reduces waste going to landfill or processing and can save you money.
This community workshop is aimed at beginners as well as anyone who wants to improve their techniques for home composting. Once you understand the basic principles, you might even be able to ditch the need for a green bin collection. Malcolm will also explain some benefits of using wood ash as a soil improver with some free wood ash to take home (subject to availability).
Come along to Monkey Park Community Hub for an initial discussion over a hot drink starting at 10am, followed by a short walk (10 mins each way) to Inspire Community Garden to look at their composting systems.
This workshop is open to all but spaces are limited. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Note: The Inspire Community Garden does contain paths that are not level, could be uneven and may be muddy in places so please wear suitable footwear and clothing suitable for the weather on the day.
