BROAD BEANS
AQUADULCE
An RHS AGM variety is an excellent yielding broad bean with dark green foliage, showing some variability. Aquadulce has long pods. Can be sown in November, for an early crop or in Spring. This is a very early maturing variety.

BUNYARDS EXHIBITION
A gardeners favourite variety for over 100 years for its reliable performance on most soils and heavy crops of delicious beans containing up to 8 beans per pod. This variety is ideal for freezing.

THE SUTTON
This RHS AGM dwarf variety with compact plants and is ideal for an exposed situation, for smaller gardens or growing in containers. It has good yields and a delicious flavour. This variety is ideal for successional sowings in Spring.

RUNNER BEANS
ENORMA
Short-jointed plants producing an enormous crop of very long, smooth, slender beans of excellent shape and colour. Great beginner variety. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Recommended by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany. Also good for freezing.

LADY DI
An RHS AGM variety produces heavy crops of tender beans over a long season. Lady Di is red-flowered producing completely stringless 30cm (12″) long pods. These delicious beans are particularly fleshy due to their slow seed development, resulting in superb quality beans.

SCARLET EMPEROR
This well known variety produces heavy crops of smooth textured, dark green pods, each reaching 30-37cm (12-15″)in length. This red floured variety is excellent for freezing and for exhibition.

PEAS
ALDERMAN
A five-foot tall pea with a long, drip-drip cropping pattern, ideal if you’re only going for one sowing of one variety to keep you in peas all summer long. It gives you lots of well-filled, tasty pods, with very tender and sweet peas and no grubs.

HURST GREENSHAFT
This RHS AGM variety is double podded, producing heavy yields of up to 11 peas per 10cm (4″) pod. Green Shaft has a fabulous flavour, is easy to harvest, and freezes well. It has good resistance to downy mildew.

KELVEDON WONDER
A popular RHS AGM variety especially suited to successional sowings throughout Springtime. It produces two pods per node containing up to 8 succulent peas. This is a heavy yielding reliable variety.

ONWARD
This maincrop variety is one of the best loved and widely grown in the world! It is a huge cropper, it is a strong grower, has a great flavour, needs little support to grow and does well in most gardens. It is an RHS AGM variety.

OREGON SUGAR POD
An RHS 8ariety which is hugely popular. It produces fleshy double pods with deliciously sweet flavour. Should be picked young while they are tender and stringless. This superb Mangetout produces heavy yields over a long picking season.

CLIMBING FRENCH BEANS
BLUE LAKE
Blue Lake is a traditional favourite variety with medium length, dark green, tender, round, quick maturing pods. Will provide a good crop of white seeds (or haricot beans) if allowed to ripen.

COBRA
An RHS AGM variety with an exceptional flavour, that will crop continuously over a long season. Climbing French Bean ‘Cobra’ produces heavy crops of smooth, round, stringless green pods of about 18cm (7″) long.

BORLOTTO LINGUA DI FUOCO
A classic of Italy, known as ‘Fire Tongue’ beans, cranberry beans or French horticultural beans, loved for their excellent flavour, colour and versatility. The decorative beans can be picked and used fresh or left to grow on. Mature beans can be shelled from the pods and dried (as borlotti beans).
